Photos: ‘Supreme Headquarters’ Of The IPOB Was Destroyed By Troops And 20 IPOB members Where killed

A joint operation by Operation Udoka, the Nigeria Police, DSS, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps resulted in the elimination of 20 IPOB/ESN terrorists during a raid in Mother Valley, Orsu LGA of Imo State.Major Gen Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, announced on Sunday that the team successfully cleared approximately 50 hideout tents belonging to IPOB/ESN in the valley. This included the terrorists’ Supreme Headquarters, Command and Control Centre, as well as its Military Council Headquarters.The operation also targeted Buteuzor’s hideout/residence, office, logistic base, temple, and shrine. These hideouts were carefully concealed with foliage to evade air surveillance.The valley provided sufficient power supply for the camps, where the terrorists were found to be rearing animals and running farms to sustain themselves for their activities. Troops encountered several command IEDs and ditches along the way, all of which were safely detonated before reaching the camp.This location was identified as the supreme headquarters, command and control centre, and Military Council Headquarters of IPOB/ESN. During the operation, troops engaged in a firefight with the terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of 20 of them. A variety of weapons were recovered, including G3 rifles, AK47 rifles, auto pump action guns, double barrel guns, locally made pistols, and RPG bombs.Additionally, the troops seized assorted ammunition such as 226 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 216 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 172 live cartridges, 4 AK47 magazines, and 3 G3 magazines. They also found IEDs (OGBUNIGWE), POS devices, baofeng radios, mobile phones, hand-held IEDs, CCTV cameras, inverters, batteries, and Biafra flags, among other items.All camps, hideouts, and shrines in the area were destroyed. The site was also filled with shallow graves, indicating ritualistic practices and idol worship, possibly linked to the region’s cases of missing persons.The recovered items are currently being processed and analyzed for intelligence purposes. The troops are continuing their efforts to pursue and dislodge the remaining terrorists and their associates from their hideouts.
