JAMB releases UTME result of arts student who switched to science, causes uproar

  • While reacting to his performance in the exam, the boy revealed what made him switch from arts to science

A science student, Paul Daniel Chukwudi, has expressed gratitude to God for his UTME performance.

Paul took to Facebook to display his UTME score, revealing that he switched from arts department to science.

Paul noted that he made the switch due to the course he was going for, adding that the UTME was his first exam as a science student.

Paul had 195 on aggregate. The former arts student scored 63 in English, 42 in mathematics, 45 in physics and 45 in biology. Paul wrote:

“Friends Here is my result.

“Formerly I was an Art student but due to my course I switched to Science. And this is my first exam as a Science Student.

“Lord am grateful.”

JAMB said only 76% of candidates scored 199 and below in the 2024 UTME.

Science student scores low in UTME

In another related news, a science student had performed poorly in the UTME.

After checking the results online, the student took to Facebook to share the scores for people to see. The JAMB UTME scores shared on Facebook showed that the student scored a total of 162 marks. The subjects he took were English language, mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics.

The student recorded 36 marks in chemistry, 40 in the use of English, 41 in biology and 45 in physics. He, however, wondered if he would be able to use the JAMB UTME result to gain admission into the university.

Science student’s UTME score trends

Meanwhile, Fox Nigeria previously reported that a science student had scored 17 in physics in the 2024 UTME.

Innocent attached the screenshot of a UTME result obtained via SMS code. The owner of the result, Bashiru Abdulazeez Ayomide, appeared so shocked by his performance that he had to request the result a second time via SMS.

Abdulazeez scored 40 in English, 17 in physics, 31 in biology and 28 in chemistry, bringing his aggregate to 116.
