Gunmen Suspected of Abducting Students in Delta State, Demand N10m Ransom

Gunmen, believed to be Fulani herdsmen, have kidnapped a group of students in Delta state. The incident took place along the East-West road in Ughelli North Local Government Area. The students, whose identities have not been disclosed, were traveling in a Sienna vehicle from Calabar when they were abducted at the Evwreni axis.Reports suggest that the students were taken by the gunmen on Friday night. These kidnappers are now demanding a ransom of N10 million for their release. This is not the first incident of its kind in the area. Just last month, eight people traveling from Benin City to Yenagoa were kidnapped along the Ughelli-Patani road. Thankfully, some were later released.Authorities, including the Ughelli A’ division police, are investigating the recent abduction, but details on the current situation of the students remain unclear. When reached for comment, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, stated that they were not yet aware of the situation.
