CAN Urges Leaders to Follow Christ’s Humility on Palm Sunday

As Christians worldwide observed Palm Sunday recently, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) urged the nation’s leaders to adopt the humility demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

Palm Sunday is a significant event in Christianity, commemorating Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, symbolized by people waving palm branches.

CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, highlighted the importance of Palm Sunday amidst Nigeria’s current challenges. He emphasized the image of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, a humble act that signifies peace and faith.

“In the midst of our challenges, Palm Sunday offers us a beacon of light,” Archbishop Okoh stated. “It reminds our leaders of humility and the power of peace and collective faith.”

Archbishop Okoh urged Nigerians to embrace unity, drawing inspiration from how the people of Jerusalem set aside their differences to welcome Jesus.

“Let us set aside prejudices and grievances for a spirit of harmony and reconciliation,” he encouraged.

He also emphasized the transformative power of faith and love, urging Nigerians to find strength in the enduring message of Palm Sunday.
