Atiku Refutes PDP Exit Rumors, Criticizes Tinubu

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, has refuted reports suggesting that he has abandoned the party.

Atiku dismissed the reports as unfounded fabrications, stressing his unwavering allegiance to the PDP.

In a statement shared on his official account on Tuesday, Atiku addressed the claims of his departure from the @OfficialPDPNig, labeling them as false and the work of mischief-makers.

He stated: “I have been receiving numerous calls from our party members, supporters, and concerned Nigerians regarding the concocted story in The Nation, Tinubu’s ragtag, alleging my departure from the @OfficialPDPNig.

“Let me be crystal clear: this is pure mischief, devoid of truth. I affirm my unyielding loyalty to the PDP while advocating for the swift merger of opposition parties. The urgency of this consolidation cannot be overstated.”

Atiku also took a swipe at President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of putting personal ambitions ahead of the nation’s welfare.

Furthermore, Atiku revealed that his media team is actively working to counter the false narrative of his departure from the PDP.

“Tinubu’s relentless pursuit of personal agendas at the expense of national governance is evident. His narrow focus on 2027 exposes a disregard for the urgent needs of the populace. It’s time for him to stop his stumbling escapades and prioritize the well-being of the people.

“My media team is vehemently refuting his groundless allegations. Let this serve as a wake-up call to all: the quest for power should not overshadow the necessity of effective governance. Together, let us propel Nigeria forward, leaving behind the theatrics of political opportunists.”
