The incident occurred during an “Introduction to Computer Science” session at the university’s Custom Campus.

Students didn’t produce missing phone

Hot in Juba reports that the unnamed lecturer claims that his Tecno Spark 10 Pro smartphone disappeared from his desk shortly after a lecture.

“I had placed it on the table while lecturing, and when I left, I absent-mindedly forgot the phone,” the lecturer stated.

Upon his return, it was apparent that the device had been taken away, but no student had claimed responsibility.

In a desperate attempt to retrieve his phone, the lecturer warned his students that he would impose academic sanctions if the phone was not produced.

“Please, if you took my phone, return it,” he pleaded. “If you don’t bring back my phone, then I’ll punish all of you.”

Entire faculty affected

The threat extends to all students, including those from the School of Computer Science and Information Technology plus Cybersecurity and the School of Applied Sciences.

“All students are affected. Payment is a must for everyone,” he insisted. “I will give you an F in exams if you don’t pay.”

The lecturer demanded that each student contribute 3,000 South Sudanese Pounds (KSh 3,000) for a replacement phone with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB storage capacity.

This demand has sparked criticism and outrage among students, with some recalling a similar incident from the previous year.

“He ordered us to contribute money to buy him a trouser or face failing our exams,” one student claimed.

Chemistry teacher faced hard question

Meanwhile, Fox Nigeria earlier reported that a lecturer was solving a chemistry question on the board for his students, but he could not finish it.

A video posted on TikTok by @asemboz_254 showed when the man paused and could not continue the exercise.
