Terrorists Strike Again: One Killed, Eight Abducted in Kaduna Community

Terrorists carried out a deadly attack on Banono Angwaku community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday night. During the attack, they killed one Christopher Zamani, injured another person, and abducted eight individuals.

The victims who were abducted were identified as Kauna Fidelis, Tina Bulus, Alice Joshua, Sarah Micah, Janet Amos, Martha Peter, Rita Joefrey, and Favour Ado.

A resident of the local government, Dauda Manyu, confirmed the incident to PUNCH Online on Thursday, stating that the terrorists also made away with money, two motorcycles, food items, and other valuables. The attack occurred around 10 p.m., leaving the community in shock and fear.

This recent attack comes just 48 hours after 61 villagers were abducted in the Buda community of the same Kajuru Local Government Area. The area has seen a surge in kidnapping incidents in recent weeks, causing significant tension among residents.

Dauda emphasized the urgent need for government intervention, suggesting collaboration with local hunters and the military to comb the forests and mount 24-hour surveillance on cattle routes, which are often used by the terrorists.

He expressed concerns about the impact of these attacks on farmers, highlighting the challenges they face in accessing their lands for farming, especially as the rainy season approaches. Dauda also highlighted the broader issue of hunger and economic hardship in the country, urging the government and military to act swiftly to address these security challenges.

Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
