Police Arrest Three Nigerians in Libya for Drug Trafficking

Libya – The operatives of the Samnu Police Department have arrested three Nigerians for drug trafficking in southern Libya.

The suspects were allegedly caught with a quantity of hashish, which authorities believe was intended for sale.

The Migrant Rescue Watch disclosed this in a statement issued via its X handle @rgowans on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

The arrests were made during a targeted operation in the town of Samnu, located in the Murzuq district.

The area is notorious for smuggling and human trafficking due to its proximity to Libya’s southern borders.

Authorities disclosed that the case had been handed over to the public prosecution for further investigation and legal action.

“Samnu Police Dept. arrested 3 #migrants of Nigerian nationality on charges of drug trafficking. The trio were found in possession of a quantity of hashish earmarked for sale. The case was referred to public prosecution.”

NDLEA arrests Malaysian returnee for smuggling drugs

TheTalk.NG earlier reported that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives arrested a Malaysian returnee, Ndubuisi Udatu (aka Richard), for drug trafficking.

41-year-old Udatu was arrested with two giant music speakers used to conceal illicit drugs on Monday, April 7, 2025.

The suspect is an ex-convict who had been arrested, convicted, and jailed for drug trafficking offences while in Malaysia before returning to Nigeria.

NDLEA arrests India-Bound brothers with 5kg of Illicit drugs

TheTalk.NG also reported that two India-bound brothers were arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos state.

NDLEA officers arrested the two brothers with 5kg of cocaine concealed in the walls of their suitcases.

The NDLEA Director, Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, shared more details about the arrest and that of others.

NDLEA arrests Indian lady with illicit drugs in chocolate wraps

Meanwhile, TheTalk.NG reported that NDLEA operatives arrested an Indian lady, Ms. Neetu Neetu for drug trafficking.

Neetu was arrested with 72 parcels of heroin factory sealed in wafer wraps and packaged as chocolates.

The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, narrated how the Indian woman was arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano state.
