New Headline: Man Dies by Drowning While Visiting Ogun Community with Friend
A man named Sunday Ogah tragically drowned in a river in Eyinwa community in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State. According to a statement from the spokesperson of the Ogun State police command, Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred when Ogah, along with his friend Otusanya Abayomi, arrived in the community.
Abayomi reported to the community police station that around noon, Ogah left them and headed to an unknown destination without informing anyone. Later, it was discovered that Ogah had gone to swim at Eyinwa River, where he unfortunately drowned.
The police, upon receiving the report, deployed surveillance officers and divers to search for Ogah’s body in the river. Despite their efforts, they were unable to locate him.
The statement mentioned ongoing efforts to recover Ogah’s body and to inform his family about the tragic incident. The State Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, promising the command’s commitment to public safety and the prevention of such tragedies in the future.
