Ilesa University Staff Member Dies as Truck Falls on Her Car

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday as a female staff member of Ilesa University in Osun State, Ogunmokun Fanimo, lost her life when a truck fell over her car while she was driving home.The accident took place in Ilesa town along Osu road, leading to an outpouring of sympathy from shop owners and passers-by who attempted to rescue the woman but were unsuccessful.According to a source at the University, Fanimo left the school premises around 4 pm, driving her wine-colored Toyota Camry with Lagos LSD 584GD registration.Reports indicate that a truck loaded with cashew was traveling towards Osu when it lost control, causing it to overturn onto Fanimo’s car, which was heading towards Ilesa metropolis from the school area.By 8 pm, efforts were made to lift the truck off the car, revealing the tragic fate of Fanimo, who had been trapped for nearly four hours. She was found deceased inside her vehicle.The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun command, Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed the heartbreaking incident, stating that Fanimo, a staff member of the university’s library unit, lost her life in the accident.
