Enyeama: I Will Always Say Yes to Nigeria
Vincent Enyeama, the former goalkeeper for Nigeria, has expressed his eagerness to return to the national team if given the opportunity. Known as one of Nigeria’s best goalkeepers, Enyeama earned 101 caps for the Super Eagles before his retirement in 2015 amid a dispute with former coach Sunday Oliseh.
In an interview with Lagos Talks, the 41-year-old discussed the possibility of becoming a goalkeeper coach. He mentioned that while he isn’t currently certified, he’s open to the idea. Enyeama referenced Zinedine Zidane’s situation, where Real Madrid trusted him despite lacking formal coaching certification.
Enyeama emphasized his loyalty to Nigeria, stating, “I don’t have a problem if they wake up tomorrow and say, Vincent, come and be part of the setup – I will gladly do it. I can never say no to my country, I have always said that. I can never say no to Nigeria.” He expressed readiness to contribute his European football experience to the national team if given the chance, adding, “But they have to call me first.”
