Surulere, Lagos state – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has warned that the consequences of the marginalization of the southeast will be huge.
Igbokwe claimed that Nigeria has continued to treat the South-East as a zone that does not exist or does not matter.

The APC chieftain said the southeast geopolitical zone has been systematically neglected.
He stated this in a post he shared via his Facebook page on Saturday, April 12, 2205.
According to Igbokwe, the scars of the Biafra Civil War are still there over 50 years after the war ended.
“If Nigeria continues to treat the South-East as if the zone does not exist or does not matter, the consequences will be huge. The civil war has ended, but the scars are still there. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Neglect of SE is bad.”
South east elders declare support for Tinubu’s re-election
TheTalk.NG earlier reported that the South East Elders Alliance for Tinubu 2027, Enugu North Senatorial District chapter, is rooting for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The group highlighted the reasons for supporting President Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
The Igbo elders added that the people of Enugu North Senatorial District (Nsukka political zone) have never had it this good under any Nigerian president.
Why South-east should be grateful to Tinubu
TheTalk.NG also reported that the minister of works, Engineer David Umahi, said President Tinubu should be appreciated.
Umahi told federal lawmakers from the southeast region that the Igbos should be grateful to President Tinubu for infrastructure development in the region.
According to the former Ebonyi state governor, no Nigerian “leader has demonstrated such commitment to the region”
Southeast governors set to meet Tinubu
Meanwhile, TheTalk.NG reported that Governors from the Southeast region under the umbrella of SEGF have resolved to meet President Tinubu to discuss the release of the leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The Chairman of the forum and governor of Imo, Hope Uzodimma, announced the development on Tuesday, July 2, adding that they would discuss other pressing matters of the region with Tinubu.
The governors also announced the appointment of Anyim Pius Anyim and Rotimi Amaechi as the chairman and secretary, respectively, for the burial committee of the late Ogbonnaya Onu.
