Iran Fires Over 300 Drones and Missiles, Says Israel Army
Iran launched a significant attack on Israel, deploying more than 300 drones and missiles overnight, according to an Israeli army spokesman. The attack resulted in injuries to at least 12 people.
In a statement, military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari revealed that Iran fired a total of over 300 ballistic missiles, UAVs (drones), and cruise missiles towards Israel. This included 170 drones and 30 cruise missiles, none of which entered Israeli territory, as well as 110 ballistic missiles, with a few reaching Israel.
The Israeli military confirmed that “dozens of surface-to-surface missile launches” were detected, with the majority intercepted before crossing into Israeli territory. Among the injured was a seven-year-old girl from a Bedouin community near the town of Arad, who was in intensive care.
Iran’s armed forces’ chief of staff, Mohammad Bagheri, stated that Iran’s drone and missile attack on Israel, in retaliation for a strike on Iran’s Damascus consulate, had “achieved all its objectives.” This operation, named “Operation Honest Promise,” targeted what Iran claimed were an “intelligence center” and the air base from which Israeli F-35 jets allegedly took off to strike the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
Bagheri emphasized that the retaliatory attack successfully destroyed and disabled these targets. He also warned Israel against further actions, stating that any such actions would result in a “much bigger” response from Iran. Additionally, he cautioned the United States against aiding Israel in potential future actions, threatening that US bases would not be secure if they cooperated with Israel.
Hossein Salami, chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, hailed the attack as a “limited operation” that targeted Israeli capabilities used against Iran’s embassy. Salami described the operation as “more successful than expected” and reiterated warnings of a “counterattack” if Israel targeted Iranian interests or individuals.
