Manchester United, one of the big teams in the English Premier League, is getting ready to offer €110m to bring Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen to their team. This news was shared by a UK newspaper, The Independent, and reported by The PUNCH.

The team is planning to make some big changes, especially since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS Group is now in charge at Old Trafford. They want to make their team stronger for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

United is eager to make a big impact in the transfer market. It’s said that they are ahead in the race to sign Napoli’s striker, competing against teams like Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

As per The Independent, United is getting ready to make a significant offer in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Victor Osimhen, who currently plays for Napoli, has been performing really well. Even though he missed some games due to injuries and playing for his national team, he has managed to score 13 goals this season. Last season, he was instrumental in Napoli winning the Serie A with an impressive 26 goals in 32 games, and a total of 31 goals across all competitions.

The 25-year-old forward’s amazing performances have caught the attention of top clubs like Chelsea and PSG. It’s been reported that his new contract includes a €110m release clause, which makes him a player that many teams are interested in.

For Manchester United, signing Osimhen would be a big boost to their team. They have been looking for a top striker since Robin van Persie left in 2015.

Osimhen’s achievements are quite remarkable. He was the top scorer in Italy’s Serie A in the 2022/23 season, becoming the first African to achieve this. He was also named the Italian Footballers’ Association Serie A Player of The Year for that season.

On the international stage, Osimhen played a crucial role in helping Nigeria qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. He scored 10 goals during the qualifiers, and although he only scored one goal in the tournament itself, his contributions were important as Nigeria reached the final, where they lost 2-1 to the hosts.

In an incredible moment in his career, Osimhen was ranked eighth in the Ballon d’Or, becoming the first Nigerian footballer since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999 to achieve this. He also won the African Footballer of The Year award, beating top players like Achraf Hakimi and Mohamed Salah.
